Poha is flattened rice that is steam cooked with onions, spices and herbs. The word "poha" refers to the flattened rice itself and as well the dish made with it. These flattened rice flakes are also known as parched rice or beaten rice. They are considered to be nutritious & wholesome as they are got by minimally processing paddy.

Instructions to make Poha snack:

  1. Take a heated pan and fry the poha till it becomes crispy..
  2. Take another pan. Heat oil and ghee. Add rai, jeera, hing, peanuts, roasted Chana dal, curry leaves coconut, turmeric. Fry for about five minutes. Then add poha. Fry it for about two minutes. Then add red chilli powder, salt and sugar. Fry it for two minutes. Poha becomes crispy. Transfer it into a container only when poha cools down. Or else it becomes very soft..
  3. It's ready to be served. You can add finely chopped onions when serving..

Add all ingredients to poha and mix, gently but thoroughly. Serve it as an evening snack for kids.
